Colts Injury Report: Key players don’t practice
By Ryan Stano
The Colts have had an issue with injuries in this young season. Now it looks as though the injury bug could be a little worse than initially thought.
The Colts have had some good players out the first two games of the year. The biggest name is Anthony Castonzo, who has yet to play since last season. He suffered a setback in practice last week and hasn’t practiced this week either. That is not a good sign going into Sunday.
Marlon Mack missed the first game of the year, but did play last Sunday in Washington. He also has yet to practice this week. They are still nursing his hamstring issue and don’t want to over-work him. He has a much better chance to play this week than Castonzo does.
T.Y. Hilton didn’t practice for the second day in a row because of a quad issue. This is quite concerning for the Colts. He didn’t look hurt in the game against the Redskins, but clearly has some sort of issue. Hopefully this is just precautionary and he can play this week.
Another big name on offense hasn’t practiced this week, and that is Jack Doyle. Doyle has a hip injury. He was another player that didn’t look to be hurt in week 2, but is being held out of practice. He is one of Luck’s favorite targets, so this could be a big loss.
A full list of injuries was listed on the Colt’s twitter account.
As you can see, there are several players listed on the report. The Colts have to have backups step up if these guys can’t go. They have lived by the mantra next man up all year long, and that could continue this week.
Hopefully we get some better news tomorrow and some of these players begin to practice.
