Colts vs. Redskins: A bettors guide

The Colts go on the road for the first time in 2018, heading to Washington D.C. After having a disappointing showing in their home opener, they look to bounce back with a win against the Redskins. But according to Vegas, they won’t be doing that.

Washington is currently a 5.5 point favorite. This likely stems from a few things. One, the game is at home for the Redskins. Two, they have a formidable running attack with Adrian Peterson. Three, they will be playing in a monsoon because of Hurricane Florence.

Because of those bad conditions, the outcome will favor whichever team takes care of the ball the best. The Redskins take care of the ball very well. Alex Smith is famous for not turning the ball over. Meanwhile Andrew Luck continues to have his own turnover issues.

5.5 is a lot of points to cover in the NFL. If Washington does win this game, it won’t be by much. I would take the points. The Colts can keep this game close if they end up on the losing side of it. It will probably be decided by a field goal.

The over/under is 48. That seems extremely high to me based on the conditions the game will be played in. Both teams can score points in bunches, but I would take the under. The rainy and windy conditions will force this to be a lower scoring game.
