Colts training camp wrapped up yesterday at Grand Park in Westfield. With camp done, here is a review on how it went for Indianapolis.

The Colts were wrapped up in all kinds of change in the offseason. They got brand new coaches pretty much across the board. They had to learn new systems, and integrate new players. Doing all that, how did the Colts handle it all?

Offensively, the Colts look good. They have been able to execute at will during all of camp. The starting offense looked good in the first preseason game as well. The players seem to be learning the new system well.

Andrew Luck has looked good as well. He missed all of last year with a shoulder injury. Now he looks better than ever. If he can continue to strengthen that shoulder and continue to get the new system down, he could be in for a career year. He is the key to the whole team’s success.

Defensively, there are still a ton of questions. The unit hasn’t looked good thus far in camp. They haven’t been able to stop the offense very well, and played poorly against the starting offense of Seattle. They still need time to play with each other and learn the new system.

Special teams still look as good as ever. Adam Vinatieri still is doing his thing, and is still one of the most consistent kickers in the league. As long as he is still kicking well, the special teams aren’t something to worry about. Rigoberto Sanchez also has looked good punting the ball.

The rest of the preseason will answer a lot of questions for this team. In the rest of those games, they need to improve their defense if they want to have any shot of making the playoffs.
