The Colts have had joint practices with the Ravens the last couple of days. What are some of the reports coming out of camp?

Joint practices can be a good thing. It helps both teams hit someone other than their own teammates, and allows some very light scheming to take place. But It can also be a breeding ground for fights, which can turn out to be bad.

According to the local media, a couple of skirmishes have already occurred.

Fights are not a great thing. People can get hurt and it shows a lack of discipline. The teams aren’t in good positions to lose depth on their rosters due to stupid fighting injuries. But fights can also help build camaraderie and trust. It shows that players have each other’s backs.

Not all of the news out of Westfield is about fighting though. It sounds like the Colts may have lost another receiver to an injury.

We don’t know the extent of the injury right now. But if he is out for an extended period of time, that is a big blow to the Colts. They have already lost Deon Cain for the year with a torn ACL. Brent was supposed to replace him on the depth chart. If both are gone, that spells trouble for the Colts’ receiver depth.

Practice doesn’t seem to be going quite the way the coaches want it to. Coach Reich can’t be happy about the fights or the injury. Hopefully the last day in training camp ends on a good note.
