INDIANAPOLIS, IN - JANUARY 01: Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck is the most important player the Colts have had since Peyton Manning. But people don’t realize how good he has been in his career so far, and this article will make you appreciate his talents more.

Andrew Luck was said to be the best quarterback prospect since fellow former Stanford quarterback John Elway. He was taken with the number one overall pick back in 2012 and has been excellent for the Colts since then.

Luck has gone 43-27 in his time as Colts quarterback. He has won most of those games with an inferior roster around him, and elevated the team to winning ways. As a rookie he threw for 4,374 yards, which was good enough for seventh best in the league.

Luck has only improved his skills since his rookie year. In 2014, he led the team to the AFC Championship game. He threw for a career high 4,761 yards and 40 touchdowns that year. Luck also ran for three touchdowns as well.

Stats don’t tell the whole story though. When Luck is on the field, he can diagnose defenses quickly. He makes defenses play the Colts a certain way because of his arm strength. Even if defenses key in on the running game, he is good enough to make them still pay through the air.

Luck is also a fantastic teammate and leader. Everyone who plays with him loves him and his approach to the game. He is a guy who is always positive in the huddle and will keep his teammates’ spirits up. He will never give up on a comeback effort either, as he has shown during the second greatest comeback in playoff history against the Chiefs in the 2013 season.
