Indianapolis Colts 2018 Mock Draft 3.3: Rounds 5-7
By Andrew Ites
Round 6: 178th Overall Pick
The Colts’ depth chart at cornerback has been left pretty thin after Rashaan Melvin signed elsewhere in free agency, and Chris Ballard hasn’t addressed that position yet in free agency.
Fortunately there should be an extremely talented cornerback available in the later rounds in Darius Phillips.
Phillips racked up 35 pass breakups and 12 interceptions over his last three seasons at Western Michigan where he showed fantastic ball skills. He’s not an amazing athlete with a 4.54 40-yard dash time at 5′ 10″ and 190 pounds, but his technique at the cornerback position should give him a chance to succeed.
