T.Y. Hilton named to Pro Bowl
By Ryan Stano
The Colts wide receiver was selected to his fourth straight Pro Bowl on Wednesday morning.
T.Y. Hilton is going bowling after all. He was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl after replacing Cincinnati’s A.J. Green who is unable to play due to injury. The Pro Bowl game is in Orlando to be played on January 28th.
Despite not having starting quarterback Andrew Luck throwing him the ball, Hilton still recorded 966 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. It was a down year from last year when he led the entire league in receiving. But considering he put up these numbers with a quarterback he had never played with before September, that’s still a fantastic accomplishment.
Hilton was a key player in Colts wins this season. Every time the Colts came out victorious, Hilton had a big game. In each of the Colts’ first 3 wins this season, Hilton recorded at least 150 yards receiving. He was clearly a focal point when the Colts did well.
Unfortunately, the Colts weren’t able to get him the ball enough to produce more wins. Defenses constantly keyed on Hilton, knowing the Colts didn’t have a serious number two threat to hurt them. The Colts didn’t get much help from their other wide receivers.

If Hilton was able to put up these kind of numbers with a backup quarterback, Colts fans should be salivating at the prospect of him being paired up with Luck again. He is a big-play machine, and with Luck under center, he is an all-pro caliber receiver. If Luck comes back completely healthy next season, the Colts’ win total should increase and Colts fans should be very happy.
