The Indianapolis Colts had back-to-back picks in the fourth, and returned to defense by taking Albany State defensive tackle Grover Stewart.

The Colts sent scouts scrambling with the pick of Grover Stewart. The little known defensive tackle got attention late as his tape made it onto the desks of analysts. Stewarts highlight reel is impressive as he dominates the line of scrimmage, albeit against a lesser level of talent.

With proper development, Stewart has the potential to turn into a run stuffer with the ability to push the pocket. He gives the Colts more depth along a defensive line that is starting to look like an area of strength.

From Pro Football Focus:

"Round 4, pick No. 144 overall: Grover Stewart, DI, Albany StateStewart looked like a monster on tape. He moves really well for his massive size (6-foot-4, 347 pounds) and can cause havoc at multiple positions along the defensive line. Stewart is strong enough to bull-rush a blocker and athletic enough to get around them, which is impressive at 347 pounds. — Jordan Plocher, @PFF_Jordan"

The numbers on Stewart show a high level of athleticism for someone of his size.

It bears repeating: currently listed at 334-pounds and ran a 5.14 forty at his Pro Day. No man that size should move that fast.

Stewart gives the Colts depth and potential for the future. He won’t be ready to start or even get big snaps right away, but they won’t need him to do that either. He’s a project with a lot of upside.
