According to team owner Jim Irsay, two Indianapolis Colts all-time greats, Marvin Harrison and Robert Mathis, will play key roles during the 2017 NFL Draft at the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:

The franchise’s all-time career sack and forced fumble leader, Robert Mathis, will announce the Colts 2nd round pick–currently slated at Pick #46 overall.

Meanwhile, Marvin Harrison (the franchise’s all-time leading receiver in every major category) will be at the Colts table during Round 1 for the 15th overall pick–potentially helping the process to bring the draft selection card to the attention of the NFL commissioner.

It’s worth noting that Harrison resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, so this year’s NFL Draft is already in his ‘backyard’–making it an easy trip.

Last year was an important year for both players, as Harrison was inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame, while Mathis played his final season in ‘Horseshoe Blue’ before recently retiring.

Obviously, it’s great to see some of the franchise’s legendary players still playing key roles for the Indianapolis Colts going forward.

Hopefully, their presence brings some good luck and fortune to the Colts newest batch of rookies.

If such fresh faces end up being anything close to Harrison or Mathis, then new general manager Chris Ballard‘s Colts will have hit a game-winning grand slam.
