Report: Colts Have Visited with USF Offensive Lineman Kofi Amichia
According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, the Indianapolis Colts have visited with University of South Florida offensive lineman Kofi Amichia among other NFL teams.
The former Bulls standout is considered a potential under-the-radar sleeper along the offensive line in this year’s NFL Draft:
The 6’3″, 302 pound left tackle was a 2-year starter for USF, starting 28 consecutive games over a 3-year span (with two of those at right tackle). During his final collegiate season, he earned American Athletic Conference First-Team honors and was awarded USF’s ‘Tough Man’ Award for his senior leadership.
He helped USF break back-to-back school rushing records in consecutive seasons.
However, Amichia projects to be an offensive guard at the next level.
Nevertheless, he’s coming off an impressive pro day in late March, having posted solid physical measurables:
Of course, the Colts could always use help along the offensive line, as the unit surrendered the 5th most sacks (44) and the 2nd most QB hits (128) this past season respectively.
It’s worth noting that a pair of rookies, Joe Haeg (RG) and Le’Raven Clark (RT) flashed some promise late in the season, but both current projected starters remain unproven and raw (the latter in Clark’s case).
The team also added a veteran insurance policy earlier this offseason, as the Colts signed 5th-year veteran, Brian Schwenke, who can play at both offensive guard and center along the offensive line

Nevertheless, adding an offensive lineman such as Amichia would certainly help the Colts provide more of a ‘healthy competition’. If nothing else, he could prove to be additional depth should injuries arise in the offensive trenches.
Currently, Amichia is projected to be a late round draft pick, but that could certainly change as the NFL Draft quickly approaches.
