According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Kamar Aiken is set to visit the Indianapolis Colts on Friday.

The 27 year old is a free agent on this year’s open market:

The 6’2″, 215 pound wideout is coming off a season with the Ravens in which he caught 29 receptions for 328 total receiving yards and a touchdown reception in 16 games (6 starts).

Originally signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2011, the 4-year veteran has recorded 128 receptions for 1,539 receiving yards and 9 touchdown receptions in 51 career games (20 starts)–having also spent time with the New England Patriots organization as well.

It’s not the first time that new Colts general manager Chris Ballard has pursued a free agent wide receiver, as Indianapolis was reportedly a serious suitor for new Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery just a week ago.

While T.Y. Hilton is entrenched as the Colts number one wideout, the team needs to get more production out of its 2nd wide receiver Donte Moncrief, as well as the rest of its receiving corps–including so-far underwhelming former first rounder Phillip Dorsett.

Aiken could provide the Colts with additional depth at the wide receiver and maybe even push Dorsett for the 3rd wide receiver spot. He’d also provide veteran insurance for the Colts starting wide receivers, as Moncrief missed 7 games last season due to injuries and Hilton battled a hamstring ailment.
