5. Micah Hyde, Safety Green Bay Packers

Considered the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of the Green Bay Packers defense, defensive back Micah Hyde can seemingly do it all in their secondary.

Originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the 6’0″, 197 pound defensive back can play safety, man the slot, and even return punts on special teams–having been blessed with a cornerback’s skill-set.

Hyde’s coming off a season in which the 26 year old safety recorded 58 tackles, 1 sack, 9 passes defensed, and 3 interceptions in 16 games (11 starts).

Hyde has made 30 starts for the Packers over the past three seasons.

Per Pro Football Focus (subscription), Hyde was their 53rd best rated cornerback with a +74.7 grade overall.

The Colts need help all over their secondary at either safety and cornerback, and with veteran Darius Butler also a free agent–who’s served as their primary slot cornerback and even played well situationally at safety, Hyde could potentially become a younger replacement by performing both roles just as effectively as well.
