1. Brandon Williams, Nose Tackle, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens standout nose tackle Brandon Williams has said his ‘future is up in the air‘ regarding the only professional franchise he’s ever known.

Like former Ravens defensive lineman Cory Redding and Art Jones, it’s possible he could be the latest Baltimore castoff to join the Colts–with each of his potential predecessors having varying degrees of success in Indianapolis obviously.

Initially drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the 6’1″, 340 pound nose tackle has emerged into one of the best young nose tackles in all of football.

The 27 year old nose tackle started in all 16 games for the Ravens this past season, recording 51 tackles, a sack, and a pass defensed.

Per Pro Football Focus (subscription), Williams was their 39th best graded interior defensive lineman with a +75.9 grade overall–including a +77.9 grade in run defense.

The Colts could use an upgrade at nose tackle, as while David Parry has been a pleasant surprise as a former 5th round pick, he may be best suited as a rotational defensive lineman long-term.

Williams could provide the Colts with a clear difference-maker at the nose tackle position, as the 340 pounder can be a ‘load’ at times in the interior and a big-time run stuffer. There’s no question that the Colts need to get stronger in the trenches defensively as a whole.

Having previously played with the Baltimore Ravens, he’d obviously have a great familiarity with Colts head coach Chuck Pagano‘s defensive system already–making it a very smooth transition.
