The Indianapolis Colts announced on Thursday that the team has promoted offensive tackle Jeremy Vujnovich from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster and signed offensive guard Kitt O’Brien to their 10-man taxi squad in his place.

The team had an open spot on their 53-man active roster after placing starting cornerback Patrick Robinson (groin) on injured reserve earlier this week.

The 6’5″, 300 pound offensive tackle spent this past offseason with the Colts (appearing in all 4 preseason games [1 start]), but was part of the team’s final 53-man roster cuts in early September before being re-signed to the team’s practice squad shortly thereafter.

It’s not Vujnovich’s first time on the Colts active roster this season, as the 1st-year pro also was with the team’s 53-man squad during Week 4 and 5 (appearing in one game) before later being waived and re-signed to their practice squad again.

Vujnovich was originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2013, having appeared in 29 games (28 starts) in his 4-year collegiate career at Louisiana College.

He figures to provide additional offensive line depth in the aftermath of the Colts placing starting offensive guard Jack Mewhort (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.
