After more than a 2 hour flight delay, the Indianapolis Colts finally landed in New Jersey on early Sunday evening. Taking on the struggling New York Jets, the Colts have a share of the AFC South division lead on the line.

This will be the 69th time these two teams have faced each other. Currently, the Colts are winning the series 40-28. The last time that the Colts faced the Jets did not go as planned.

On September 21st of last year, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns and the Jets defense forced FIVE turnovers en route to a 20-7 win at Lucas Oil Stadium.

This is easily a winnable game for the Colts, though it won’t be easy to actually win it. Andrew Luck and the wide receivers will have to be on their game to account for the tough rushing matchup.

The Jets are 4th in the league when it comes to rush defense, allowing an average of 85.9 rushing yards per game.

On the flip side, they are 22nd in the league against the pass, allowing 262.8 yards per game on average, to opposing quarterbacks.

In conclusion, the Colts are trying to keep their playoff hopes alive while the Jets are just playing because they have to, and they are getting paid.

If Andrew Luck stays healthy, the Colts should be able to win this Monday Night Football game, but anything is possible.
