Bears at Colts: Week 5 Where to Watch

The Indianapolis Colts (1-3) will take on the Chicago Bears (1-3) at 1:00 PM EST, with the game being shown regionally on FOX. Additionally, fans can receive radio coverage on either 1070 The Fan, as well as Hank FM 97.1.

If those options aren’t available, fans can also subscribe to NFL Gamepass for online streaming coverage.

Of course, it’s a rematch of Super Bowl XLI, where the Peyton Manning led Colts defeated the Bears 29-17 en route to becoming the 2006 Super Bowl Champions in Miami, Florida:

However, now 10 years removed from that glorious moment in Colts franchise history, these teams, players, coaches, and front office personnel are nearly entirely different for each team with only Robert Mathis and Adam Vinatieri being the last active remnants of that Super Bowl roster.

Since their Super Bowl victory, the Colts have actually been on the losing end of these two teams’ last two matchups, as the Bears have won consecutive meetings: Week 1 of 2008, 29-13 (the first regular season game ever played in Lucas Oil Stadium) and Week 1 of 2012, 41-21 (Andrew Luck’s 1st career start).

With quarterback Jay Cutler (thumb) doubtful to play, it will not be a rematch of the two quarterbacks from 2012, as Bears backup Brian Hoyer is expected to be the starter now facing Luck.

While Alshon Jeffery remains the Bears most dangerous playmaker at wide receiver, one player to watch is freshly appointed starting running back Jordan Howard–who played his collegiate football last season at Indiana University.

Replacing former starter Jeremy Langford, the rookie running back rumbled last weekend against the Cleveland Brooks for 107 rushing yards on 16 carries (6.7 ypc avg) and could be in line for a big workload against a Colts run defense that just surrendered a 5.1 ypc avg to Jacksonville Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon.

Both of these storied franchises have fallen on some hard times early this season–each at 1-3. Therefore, Sunday’s game will be pivotal for each team to try to maintain ground within their divisions, while keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Since the Bears are playing their backup quarterback and have a losing record, it would be a great opportunity for the Colts to capitalize at home with their 2nd win of the season.
