Strong Safety: Clayton Geathers, Winston Guy

With veteran Dwight Lowery leaving to the San Diego Chargers in free agency, 2nd-year safety Clayton Geathers takes over the starting position alongside Adams. Last year’s 4th round pick played well in a situational role as a hybrid safety in nickel packages this past season–even making 2 starts due to injuries.

Geathers provides the Colts with a tough, hard-hitting in the box safety, who can hold his own in pass coverage–while also giving the defense some much needed youth and athleticism in their secondary which was sorely lacking last season.

Behind Geathers is 4th-year safety Winston Guy, who appeared in 12 games for the Colts this past season. The 6’1″, 200 pound safety is one of the bigger players at his position on the Colts roster and should make his mark primarily on special teams again.
