Luck’s new 5-year contract extension will make him the highest paid player in the NFL and reaches as much as $25 million annually in the first 3 years:

The 26 year old quarterback is coming off a disappointing season, as he missed 9 of the team’s games due to injury–including the Colts final 7 games due to a lacerated kidney.

When he did play–perhaps battling injuries, Luck threw for just 15 touchdowns to 12 interceptions and a career low passer rating of 74.9.
However, he showed improvement late in the year before his season-ending injury.
Nevertheless, the former 2012 #1 overall pick remains one of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL, as he’s blessed with the arm, athleticism, and football intelligence to make any NFL general manager drool.
Even after such a rough season, Luck is just one season removed from throwing for a league-leading 40 touchdown passes, being 3rd in league passing yards with 4,761, and carrying the Colts to the AFC Championship game.
Again, this story will be updated as soon as more contract details are released, but it’s great to hear that Luck will be donning Horseshoe Blue for years to come:
