3. Addition of Cornerback Patrick Robinson
With the Colts being quiet in free agency, the signing of cornerback Patrick Robinson to a 3-year, $12 million deal was their only real splash this offseason.
The former 2010 1st round pick of the New Orleans Saints resurrected his career with the San Diego Chargers last season–showing the talent and ability that once made him such a highly touted draft selection.
Robinson appeared in all 16 games for the Bolts–making 10 starts, recording 49 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and an interception.
The 28 year old cornerback figures to start on the outside on the other side of lockdown cornerback Vontae Davis–a position that has plagued the Colts in recent seasons.
While the 5’11”, 191 pound cornerback may not be a shutdown cornerback, he figures to be a significant upgrade to departed starting cornerback Greg Toler and has reportedly impressed early on during the team’s OTA’s.
