Anthony Sarao, ILB USC

Summary: 

The 5’11”, 233 pound senior captain had a rock solid swan song for the Trojans, recording 59 total tackles including 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks even after fracturing his foot in the team’s spring practices.

In his junior season, Sarao had 74 tackles and 2 interceptions including a touchdown return, making all 13 starts. He won USC’s Co-Lifter of the Year Award.

While Sarao was successful at the collegiate ranks, there’s questions about his speed and athleticism at the next level (via his NFL.com draft profile):

"BOTTOM LINE Primarily a time­share linebacker who plays steady, but lacks the productivity NFL teams generally look for from draftable linebackers. On tape, his overall speed appears to fall below the acceptable border and he doesn’t thump well enough to make a living in the box. Sarao might need to make it into camp and impress with special teams ability to have a shot."
