According to the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts are among the NFL teams that have shown late interest in New Mexico State cornerback Winston Rose ahead of the NFL Draft:

The 5’11”, 177 pound cornerback cornerback shined in his senior season for the Aggies, recording 51 tackles including 2 tackles for loss and 6 passes defensed in 11 games.

Rose posted solid measurables at his pro day and makes for an intriguing mid-late round draft pick:

Of course, the Colts could always use additional cornerback depth, as a team can never have enough quality players at the position.

While the team recently signed Patrick Robinson at the position, the team saw firsthand how injuries decimated the cornerback position last season–particularly in the beginning of the year.

Specifically, backup Jalil Brown started in 4 games for the team and freshly signed cornerbacks such as Josh Thomas, Eric Patterson, and Sheldon Price were called upon to play key roles in relief of the Colts top injured cornerbacks.

Rose can provide additional cornerback depth for the Colts, while being able to contribute immediately on special teams.
