Along with Jonathan Newsome, the Indianapolis Colts announced that the team has also released outside linebacker Andy Studebaker.
The 7-year veteran was re-signed in mid-December to bolster the Colts struggling specials teams coverage units. The team had surrendered a punt return for a touchdown in consecutive weeks prior to his signing.
Studebaker appeared in 3 games for the Colts, but didn’t record any tackles.
Originally a 6th round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008, Studebaker has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans organizations.
The 30 year old outside linebacker was a member of the Colts in 2013 and 2014, as he appeared in 24 games (1 start), recording 27 total tackles and a forced fumble.
Always highly regarded for his special teams play, here’s hoping Studebaker can successfully latch on elsewhere–should he choose to continue his professional football career.
