Grade: Inc.

What went right: Smith’s rookie year was completely derailed by injuries and he was only able to play in four games. He actually played well when he made it onto the field (a 67.7 grade from PFF). In camp he showed a great deal of adaptability and an ability to rally quickly from a bad play.

What went wrong: The knee injury that put him on IR with a designation to return. The team obviously thought he was good enough to warrant the IR-D tag, and there is a fair amount of potential with him. He eventually ended the year on IR due to that knee injury.

Offseason expectations: Smith is obviously under contract and the Colts need him to get healthy and take over that cornerback two position. We won’t really know much about Smith until we can get a look at him in camp and the preseason in August.
