Colts 2015 Position Review: Cornerbacks
By Evan Reller
Jalil Brown
Grade: D
What went right: Brown was a standout in the preseason and training camp. He continually made plays and looked like he’d be pushing for snaps during the regular season. Then his year was derailed by injuries. Brown played in eight games, and even started four of them.
What went wrong: Brown really struggled to be the same kind of player we saw before the season started. Partly due to injuries, but even when healthy he wasn’t the same player. It is almost as if when there is no pressure, he’s a stud, but when the game means something he shrinks away from the spotlight.
Offseason expectations: Brown is an unrestricted free agent and with the team being thin at the position he could easily be brought back for a very cheap price. If anyone can get the most out of a cornerback it’s Chuck Pagano. Maybe Brown needs to be coached up or a big dose of confidence, but there is a potential playmaker in his DNA.
