Dolphins Darren Krein Will Reportedly Be New Colts Strength and Conditioning Coach
According to ESPN NFL’s Adam Caplan, former Dolphins coach Darren Krein will be the new strength and conditioning coach for the Indianapolis Colts:
Krein just completed his 5th season as the Miami Dolphins strength and conditioning coach (2011-15). Krein has won the title of NFL Strength Coach of the Year previously.
Before joining the Dolphins, Krein was a member of the Seattle Seahawks strength and conditioning coaching staff (1997-98 and 2001-09).
Originally a 1994 5th round pick of the San Diego Chargers, Krein suffered a knee injury in his rookie season. While he was subsequently claimed by the Green Bay Packers, Krein never played a snap in the NFL. He played the 1996 season with the Barcelona Dragons, but re-injured his knee and was forced to retire.
Krein played collegiately with the Miami Hurricanes (1989-1993), he was a first-team All-Big East selection as a senior at inside linebacker.
