Chuck Pagano: ‘This Team Will Stick Together’

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano was steadfast in his belief that his team would stick together and continue to fight in his post-game press conference following an embarrassing 51-16 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars:

"“We’re all going to be coming under fire,” said Pagano. “All that stuff. Blinders on. Ear muffs on. We can’t do anything about that. We made this bed.”“It starts with me and everybody else,” added Pagano. “We’re in this thing together. This team will stick together. I know that.”"

The embattled Colts head coach knows that his team is likely going to get torn apart and second-guessed after such a poor showing against a rebuilding Jaguars team:

"“This is going to sting, and it’s going to sting for a long time,” said Pagano. “There’s going to be a lot written. There’s going to be a lot said. Nobody can listen to it. Not anybody in that locker room. All you can do is go back to work and keep fighting, and that’s what we’ll do.”"

It’s safe to say that the Colts were clearly beat in all facets of the game Sunday against the Jaguars. While the team has suffered some tough blowout losses before under Pagano, this one was different because it came at the hands of a perennial AFC bottom-feeder.

Regardless, Pagano’s team will have to stick together looking ahead, as the team faces the 6-7 Houston Texans in a game that could very well determine this year’s AFC South Champion–which means an automatic playoff seed.
