4. Who needs to step up for the Jags to come away with a win on Sunday? Is an x-factor for this team?

"Without a doubt it’s Blake Bortles. There’s no sense in counting on the defense, so it’s on Bortles and the offense to put up 20+ points or whatever is needed to outscore the Colts. The Jaguars had two chances to win their first matchup with the Colts but, while it’s easy to blame the loss on Jason Myers missing those field goals, they should have performed better offensively against that Colts defense. Bortles, Robinson, Julius Thomas, and T.J. Yeldon all need to contribute on Sunday."

My take:

Bortles did miss a number of throws in that first meeting that would have turned the game around. This is the kind of QB the Colts really seem to feast on, but Indy has a number of injuries on defense that could be an issue Sunday.

This is what we talked about with Bortles taking on too much of the responsibility to carry the team. This is a good test to see if he’s up to the task.
