3. The Jags feel like an improved team, but the record doesn’t reflect that. What has been the biggest hindrance for the team this season?

"As I mentioned earlier, it’s been primarily the defense. The offense has had the occasional off game, but Bortles has kept this team in games for the most part. The Jaguars were counting on first round pick Dante Fowler Jr. to bolster their edge rushing corp and that unit is an absolute disaster without him. Chris Clemons and Andre Branch might be the two worst defensive ends in the entire league. There are plenty of other issues on the team (missed extra points, silly turnovers, poor coaching decisions), but the defense is main reason this team only has 4 wins."

My take:

Losing Fowler might have doomed the defense before the season began, or maybe that’s reading too much into a rookie. Lago really doesn’t like the ends, but 29 sacks is still 10 more than the Colts. Having just a few veterans can really make a difference in a tight game.

Say what you want about the Colts, but they have a knack for winning close games over the past four years.
