Playing on Sunday Night, Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri will be just two kicks away from moving to 3rd all-time on the NFL’s all-time list for most field goals made:

At this point, there’s little else for the 42 year old to actually accomplish, as he’s still kicking–and at a high level at that.

The 3x All-Pro, 3x Pro Bowler, 4x Super Bowl Champion, and future Hall of Famer continues to be among one of the best kickers in football, as he’s made 16 of 18 field goals (88.9%) this season including a 55-yarder and a game-winning kick.

In fact, he was recently named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for November.

According to fellow players, Vinatieri in his 20th NFL season was recently voted the 3rd best kicker in the NFL behind the New England Patriots Stephen Gostkowski and Baltimore Ravens Justin Tucker respectively, which isn’t bad for a veteran assumed to be in the twilight of his career going up against two peers seemingly in their primes.

In a primetime matchup against the Steelers on Sunday night, he’ll have the opportunity to further cement his kicking legacy for a guaranteed future bronze bust in Canton, Ohio, that doesn’t have much more room for additional cement.

While other teams have continued to routinely struggle with inconsistent kicking games, the Colts have had the luxury of having historically one of the best in the business for the past 10 seasons.

He’ll be looking to make even more history on Sunday night.
