Colts vs Saints Week 7 Wednesday Injury Report

The Indianapolis Colts host the New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon. Both teams are dealing with key injuries that might make a big impact on this weekend’s game.

The good news for the Colts is that Andrew Luck didn’t show up on the first report of the week. That is good for a number of reasons. First, he didn’t suffer any setbacks against the Patriots. Second, it isn’t a lingering issue that will continually limit his work in practice. And third, Luck is about as closely healthy as a player can be this far into an NFL seasons.

New to the injury list were safeties Mike Adams (hamstring) and Clayton Geathers (knee). Both left Sunday’s game early and are listed as day-to-day. Neither practiced on Wednesday, but the good news is that an MRI on Geathers knee came back negative.

Linebacker Jerrell Freeman continues to nurse a sore groin, despite playing against the Patriots. He was off on Wednesday. Nate Irving, who was out last week with a knee injury, returned to practice and was a full participant today.

Luckily it sounds like none of the new injuries are going to be long term concerns, and all the players on this week’s report have a chance to play on Sunday.

Three more players were given the day off for rest. Robert Mathis, Vontae Davis, and Andre Johnson all had today’s practice off.
