Dominic Rhodes

Backed-up: Edgerrin James & Joseph Addai– 2001-2006, 2008, 2010

Not too many people know that when Rhodes was a rookie in 2001 he started 10 games in place of Edgerrin James. His results were terrific, especially for an undrafted player. He rushed for 1104 yards and nine touchdowns, which is wildly impressive. However, with James on the roster, Rhodes was never quite able to break through until the 2006 season where he started all 16 games at running back.

The subsequent seasons for Rhodes saw him relinquish the starting position to Joseph Addai and he was never able to find his footing in the backfield. He returned to Indy again in 2008 and rushed for 538 yards and six touchdowns, his highest totals since the 2006 season. Rhodes was a quinessential third down back, but when called upon he could be as dynamic as James or Addai.
