The Colts have lacked a true, dominant run game since Edgerrin James left in 2005. They have been searching and searching, but they have never found another great running back to carry some of the load on offense. Frank Gore might be that guy, he is the definition of consistency, in his ten NFL seasons he has had eight where he has ran for over 1000 yards. The Colts clearly have a mold they want their running back to be; a rough and tumble guy that won’t dazzle you with jukes and spins, but he will move the chains.
Think of all the running backs the Colts have brought in to do that; Ahmad Bradshaw(did the best job so far), Dan Herron(ok, but fumbled a lot), Vick Ballard(ok, but injury prone), and Trent Richardson(Let’s just say I could write a 2000 word article on how bad Richardson was). Now think of Frank Gore, isn’t he the definition of a “move the chains back”? He won’t wow you with speed or fancy moves, he’d much rather just run you over and hurt you.
If your a Colts fan, you have to be excited for Gore, because finally, after a ten year wait he may be the back that takes the Colts to the next level.
There you have it, the Colts offense is nearly bursting at the seams in 2015. I don’t know about you, but I am really excited to watch this team take the field this season! Until then keep up to date with the Colts on Horseshoe Heroes!
