The strong safety position has been a weak spot in the Colts defense for as long as I can remember, in reality the last really good strong safety the Colts had was Bob Sanders. Right now Geathers does not have the starting spot because newly signed Dwight Lowery has the position. However Lowery has only played two full 16 game seasons in his seven -year NFL career. Now I do not want to jinx the man by any stretch, but if Lowery were to have a slip up I think Geathers could come in and play that position just as well. I mean you’re talking about a guy that had back to back 100+ tackle seasons at UCF, as a safety!
