Smith has the athleticism to succeed as a cornerback in the NFL, but the question remains if he is truly committed. That being said his upside can be enormous, given his pure speed and athletic ability. With the starting cornerback positions pretty much locked in with Vontae Davis and Greg Toler, Smith can make a name for himself on defense as a slot corner. If he plays up to his potential, he is capable of taking that third corner spot from Darius Butler.
