Herrera was the Colts’ sixth round draft pick this last year out of Georgia. In his college career Herrera was terrific, totaling over 110 tackles each of the past two seasons for the Bulldogs. Although you may be thinking of Herrera as an afterthought, he actually may have a big role in the Colts defense.

With D’Qwell Jackson going through some legal issues and newly acquired Nate Irving still rehabbing a knee injury, Herrera has a chance to get some reps. I would not be surprised if we saw him take several first team reps at the ILB position and he will more than likely start in the preseason.

The inside linebacker position may be D’Qwell Jackson’s right now, but look for Herrera to play with a chip on his shoulder and maybe swoop in and take that starting job.
