The Internet’s Scapegoat: How Bill Belichick Hacked the Astros

Some prominent members of social media had some fun again this afternoon, and it came yet again at the expense of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Fresh off of the nationwide “DeflateGate” controversy, Belichick has quickly become the internet’s new scapegoat for the St. Louis Cardinals allegedly hacking the Houston Astros database:

While Colts fans can take great solace that the majority of the DeflateGate controversy is safely over, it appears that Belichick will always be associated with misconduct in professional sports to gain a competitive advantage.

Fair or unfair.

No, Bill Belichick had absolutely nothing to do with the Cardinals alleged hack job on the Astros in the grand scheme of things, but it’s still very humorous to think that he possibly could’ve. Both the New England Patriots and his reputation clearly precede themselves, and it’s opened what appears to be Pandora’s Box for his team when it comes to any potential cheating in professional sports.

Spygate, DeflateGate, HackGate… the possibilities are becoming endless now for Belichick and the New England Patriots.
