Zack Hodges: Outside Linebacker, Harvard

From “Homeless to Harvard“, Hodges has his own inspirational story and is the type of standup individual that you can’t help but root for. However, he also possesses some definite football ability, in addition to his humble beginnings. His new head coach in Chuck Pagano has already said as much:

"“He’s got length, he’s got speed, he’s got power,” Pagano said via Michael Pointer of the Indianapolis Star. “We’re in shorts right now, so it’s hard to tell some things. But we know what the tape said. This guy is a good football player.”"

Last season for the Crimson, Hodges had 10 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks which led the team, as he lined up inside, outside, and all over the field. He was named 2nd-Team FCS AP All-American and First-Team All-Ivy League.

While the Colts are loaded at outside linebacker with Trent Cole, Robert Mathis, Erik Walden, Jonathan Newsome, and Bjoern Werner already in the fold, there could be a spot or two open for a backup outside linebacker and special teams role behind them. Hodges figures to compete with returning Colts players like Daniel Adongo and Cam Johnson for such a spot.
