I actually like the way that our offensive line is looking coming into the season. We have a solid potential starting lineup, aside form the center position, if Cherilus can get healthy before the season. Center is the only position that could be an issue.
Head coach Chuck Pagano and General Manager Ryan Grigson linger too long on a position despite ineffective results, stating that such underperforming players have “potential” and “hidden talent”. I’m not too high on either Holmes or Harrison, but I think Holmes will get the first shot at the starting center position.
There is an abundance of talent and versatility behind the starting offensive line, and they can fill needs on the line when given the chance. One person I have more faith in than most people do is Ulrick John. I think that we need to start giving him more chances to play and hopefully, he develops more into a starting caliber offensive lineman. I am pretty glad we didn’t waste an early pick this year on O-line given the exceptional depth, unlike a lot of people.
