Ezelle Ruffin, WR San Diego State
The 6’0″, 218 pound Ruffin was also one of Gil Brandt’s top undrafted free agents, and could be a small school sleeper. Last season, Ruffin caught 26 receptions for 422 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns for the Aztecs.
At the NFL Combine, he ran a 4.68 forty time, had a 27.5 inch vertical, and had 17 reps on the bench press.
Ruffin has shown solid fundamentals for the wide receiver position and is a strong asset in run blocking; however, he’s not an elite athlete as he lacks great deep speed and separation.
With a loaded group of wideouts on the Colts, Ruffin figures to be on the outside, looking in, especially with the team just drafting Dorsett in the first round. Yet, much like anything else, he’ll have the opportunity to make his mark.

"BOTTOM LINE Without separation speed or suddenness, will likely struggle to get open against NFL competition. Ruffin’s competitiveness as a run blocker will be appreciated, but the pass-catching skills will determine whether he gets a call on Day 3 (Rounds 4-7)."
