Colts ‘Introduce’ New White Uniforms. Joke’s on Colts Nation?

The Indianapolis Colts announced today that they will be wearing all-white uniforms in 2015. Yep, as part of a “white out” design, there will be no blue in sight, not on the numbers, decals, etc. allegedly for their Thursday Night Football Games:

While it seems somewhat bizarre that the Colts would want to ditch their iconic “Horseshoe Blue” in any NFL game, let alone a nationally televised game. Keep in mind what day it is on the calendar that this has been announced, April 1st, i.e. April Fools Day.

Is the joke on Colts Nation?

It seems like awfully peculiar timing that the Colts would elect to make such a drastic uniform change today out of all days. The website reveals that the new look “embraces a modern color scheme, highlighting the team as whole rather than individual players”. The promotional video (above) portrays the new white out, as “crisp, clean, simple, all white everything…There is no I in team”.

However, to their credit, the team has even gotten talented young tight end Dwayne Allen to go along with it, as both a model and on social media:

While it has the initial looks of an elaborate hoax, no one can fault the Colts for a lack of effort on this one. The organization and select individuals certainly have pulled all the stops to make this look believable in the spirit of what has the potential to be a very humorous holiday if done correctly. Kudos to the Colts.

Another key member of the team has already chimed in:

Update (2:15): The Indianapolis Colts have officially revealed that the “white out” uniforms were in fact an April Fools prank:
