According to Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star, the Indianapolis Colts are currently not engaged in talks with New England Patriots All-Pro safety Devin McCourty:

Earlier, we noted that McCourty could be a potential target for the Colts given their desperate need for a starting caliber safety. For McCourty, he’s not just “starting caliber”; however, as he’s one of the best safeties in the NFL. The team could do far worse then bring in a safety of McCourty’s talent and ability.

It’s interesting that the team is not in talks with McCourty, but maybe the 6th-year veteran is looking to return to the New England Patriots first and foremost and is concentrating all of his contract efforts there along with his agent.

For Mike Adams, after playing on a 1-year, $1 million dollar contract last season, the 11-year veteran is certainly in-line for a pay raise. As a 2014 Pro Bowler, Adams was a solidifying force in the back of the Colts secondary and a veteran leader. Earlier at the NFL Combine, General Manager Ryan Grigson spoke highly about the possibility of Adams returning:

"“You know we’d like to have Mike [Adams] back,” Grigson said. “Obviously, a June signing that goes to the Pro Bowl is a good thing. He never played like he was long in the tooth. He did some really good things for us but you want to try to solidify every position group when you’re trying to win the Super Bowl.”"

However, the Colts will still have to ensure that Adams next contract is within reason. Set to turn 34 years old soon, it wouldn’t seem prudent to commit more than a short-term deal to Adams at this juncture in his career. Hopefully, that’s a deal that eventually gets done though, even if it looks as though McCourty may not be joining him.
