Other Options at Receiver

This is a big question mark for the Colts. Right now, they have just Hilton and Moncrief as players with NFL experience at the position.

Griff Whalen is still on the roster, but he spent much of last season as a return man and was only on the field for 45 snaps with the offense. He’s costing the Colts just over half a million, and while he has good hands and timing with Luck, he isn’t exactly a fear inducing wide receiver.

The Colts made news by signing Duron Carter recently, but he is going to be a project. His former coach in the CFL said that Carter has amazing hands but struggles with the mental side of the game.

Carter is essentially a rookie and if they can get the same production out of him they got from Moncrief last year, it will be a win.

This might be another year where the Colts dip into free agency in an attempt to fill up some holes in the roster.
