Colts at Titans Injury Report: Allen, Werner Out Sunday

The Indianapolis Colts close out the season at the Tennessee Titans. The Colts can complete their sweep of the AFC South with a win this Sunday.

The Colts will be without three players this Sunday.

Tight end Dwayne Allen suffered a knee injury last Sunday and is being kept out as a precaution. He owned up to his awful performance at Dallas, but unfortunately won’t be able to make up for it until the playoffs.

Tackle Gosder Cherilus is still recovering from a groin injury that kept him out of last week’s game. He won’t play, meaning that Xavier Nixon will likely be starting at right tackle again.

Outside linebacker Bjoern Werner is also out this Sunday after suffering a shoulder injury last week.

Three more players are listed as questionable heading into Sunday’s matchup.

T.Y. Hilton was limited in practice all week with a sore hamstring that kept him out of the Cowboys last week. It wouldn’t be surprising if he were kept out this week in order to be fresh for the playoffs.

Linebacker Jerrell Freeman is also questionable with a sore hamstring. This is another case where keeping a player out would help going into the playoffs. Especially considering the games Freeman has already lost to a hamstring injury earlier in the year.

Guard Joe Reitz is listed as questionable as he continues to recover from a high ankle sprain. Reitz was limited on Tuesday and Friday, but had Wednesday off.

Three other players appeared on the injury report this week, but all are expected to play this weekend.

Outside linebacker Erik Walden is listed as probable with a sore knee. He’s appeared on the injury report for weeks now with this injury yet managed to play every time.

Defensive end Cory Redding was limited in practice early in the week, but full participated on Wednesday and Friday. He has a knee injury, but should play on Sunday.

Guard Hugh Thornton finally made his way back to practice after missing the past four games with a knee injury. Even though Thornton hasn’t been great this season, he’s been infinitely better than Lance Louis and should help bolster (in a small way) the offensive line.
