Colts at Browns Injury Report: Davis Out for Sunday

The Indianapolis Colts will be without their best player on defense when they travel to Cleveland to face the Browns. Vontae Davis has officially been ruled out of Sunday’s game.

Davis suffered a concussion last week against Washington while trying to tackle Roy Helu.

Davis has been one of the highest rated cornerbacks in the NFL this season. He has allowed just a 41.7 passer rating this season and a 45-percent catch rate. Opponents have just 27 receptions against Davis and he’s come away with three interceptions.

Three other Colts were ruled out of Sunday’s game.

Guard Hugh Thornton is still out with a knee injury. This will be his second missed game in a row. Outside linebacker Andy Studebaker is still dealing with a hamstring injury and won’t suit up Sunday. Tackle Xavier Nixon, who has only briefly appeared in Week 12, is out as well with a foot injury.

Just three players are questionable for this week’s game.

Safety Mike Adams is dealing with a back injury that might force him to miss the Browns game. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice which suggests that he’ll play on Sunday.

Cornerback Jalil Brown has an ankle injury that puts him on the questionable list. He was limited today in practice.

Josh Cribbs is also questionable with a knee injury and was limited on Friday. Cribbs will likely do anything in his power to play on Sunday against his former team.

Four different players dealt with an illness this week, but all are listed as probable.

Dwayne Allen, who has missed the past two games with an ankle injury, was a full participant all week and will play on Sunday.

Erik Walden gradually worked himself back into practice this week and was a full participant by Friday. He listed as probable even with the sore knee. Cory Redding is in a similar boat and had a complete practice by the end of the week, resulting in a probable status for Sunday.
