The Indianapolis Colts have gotten right back to business on Monday, as the team made some roster moves today even after yesterday’s win. The team announced that it has re-signed OLB Victor Butler and waived DT Kelcy Quarles.

Butler was waived last week, but the team decided to re-sign the 5th-year veteran linebacker at the expense of rookie defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles. Butler has appeared in 2 games for the Colts this season, having been used primarily on special teams and for outside linebacker depth. He’s suffered through injuries in recent seasons, but is most known for his pass rushing prowess, having 11 career sacks.

Quarles was originally signed following Arthur Jones‘ severe ankle injury in Week 2 for defensive line depth. He appeared in 2 games for the Colts, registering one sack in a back-up role. With Jones finally returning yesterday, the defense apparently no longer needed an extra defensive lineman. The 2014 undrafted free agent out of South Carolina will likely catch-on somewhere, as he was previously on the New England Patriots practice squad before being signed by the Colts.
