Injury Report: Reggie Wayne Out for Colts

The Indianapolis Colts will be on the road Sunday to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts might be without a few players on offense, while the Steelers will likely be without a few guys on defense.

The Colts will be without Reggie Wayne this week who injured his left elbow early in last week’s game against the Bengals. It was just over a year ago that Wayne tore his ACL and was lost for the season. There isn’t any indication that this injury is nearly as serious and it sounds like he might miss a game or two at the most.

Trent Richardson didn’t practice this week either. He left the Bengals game early with a hamstring injury that didn’t sound too serious early in the week. He’s had problems with his hamstrings before and it listed as Questionable for Sunday.

Its likely Richardson doesn’t play and if that is the case, expect Dan Herron to split carries with Ahmad Bradshaw.

Tight end Jack Doyle is also on the Questionable list. He sat out Wednesday with a sore knee, before slowly working his way back to a full practice by Friday. He is far more likely to play than Richardson on Sunday.

There was some good news this week courtesy of the injury report for the Colts. Nickel cornerback Darius Butler and defensive tackle Arthur Jones both returned to practice this week and are listed as Probable.

Butler sat out the past two games with an ankle injury while Jones has been out since Week 2 against the Eagles with a nasty high ankle sprain. Both should provide a nice boost to a defense that is already playing at an extremely high level.

Outside linebacker Erik Walden and tackle Gosder Cherilus both appeared on the injury report but were only out for rest this week.
