Sources: Colts Work Out Trindon Holliday

On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts worked out kick returner, Trindon Holliday, according to ProFootballTalk. Though diminutive at 5’5″, 166 pounds, Holliday is one of the most explosive returners in the NFL when fully healthy.
Of course, Colts’ fans most remember Holliday from the Week 7 demolition of a hit he received from punter Pat McAfee on a return last season along the sideline, while on the Broncos.
In 2013, with Denver, Holliday was 10th in the NFL in kick return average 27.7 yards per return (minimum 5 or more returns), but had 5 fumbles. Ironically, the man he would presumably replace as kick returner, Griff Whalen, has an identical kick return average this season, also at 27.7 yards per return. It’s unclear whether the Colts have genuine interest in Holliday or whether this was simply to kick the tires to see where he’s at.
Holliday had signed with the New York Giants in March of this past offseason, but was just released on October 6, having not appeared in a game due to a lingering hamstring injury.
