Kicker, Defense/Special Teams

Adam Vinatieri

Berry ranks him as the 192nd player. ESPN projects him as the 158th best and eighth ranked kicker. NFL.com doesn’t have him in the top 200 but he’s their 11th ranked kicker.

What else can we say about Vinatieri? He’s a solid option at kicker and can still hit from 50-plus yards. He’ll play half his games indoors and has only two games outdoors in the winter (one at Tennessee).

He may be old, but he’s still a good kicker to round out your roster.

Def/ST

ESPN projects the Colts to have the 20th ranked defense. NFL.com has them at 17th.

Expect a middle of the pack defense that might be slightly improved against the run. The new rules on illegal contact could hurt the Colts secondary and not having Robert Mathis for the first four games isn’t going to help anything.

They didn’t force all that many turnovers last season and were in the middle of the NFL.

If you are in a standard league, there are better options for defense than the Colts.
