Looking Over Performances From the Indianapolis Colts in the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl

Pro football tried to revamp the NFL Pro Bowl for 2014, and now the game is over, we can look back on how it worked. We can also take a look at how the Indianapolis Colts performed in Hawaii.

For the first time in a long time, the Pro Bowl was a low-scoring affair, that came down to a final offensive play. Team Rice (which featured OLB – Robert Mathis and LS – Matt Overton) took the last-second 22-21 victory over Team Sanders. Team Sanders took QB – Andrew Luck with the top overall Pro Bowl draft pick, and was also headed by Chuck Pagano and the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff.

Luck started the game for Team Sanders, and threw a 45-yard trick-play touchdown to Philadelphia Eagles’ WR- DeSean Jackson, on the first offensive possession. Luck only played in the first quarter, and finished 5-of-7 for 80 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Mathis finished the game with just three tackles, but both him and Overton ended up on the winning end of this inter-conference All-Star game. The Colts may not have been overly represented in the Pro Bowl, but there were still signs of appreciation for their coaching staff and stars.
