Indianapolis Colts Prepare For the NFL Playoffs

The time is now for the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts seemed to benefit from the worst division in the NFL this season, but that should not discount the efforts they have put in. Indianapolis has already defeated several current kingpins in the NFL Playoffs, including the San Fransisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Denver Broncos. This team has also lost ugly games to the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers this season. It’s tough to say which horseshoe we will see on Saturday, due to the fact that we have seen so much difference, at so many different times.

After a ridiculous 2-14 season two years ago, the Colts seemingly hit the jackpot, by getting the opportunity to draft QB – Andrew Luck. If one loss had slipped to the other side, the Colts would have been stuck with a tough decision, rather to keep an injured Peyton Manning, or to draft Robert Griffin III, with possibly the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. As it stands now, Luck and the Colts could be looking at a rematch with Manning, at Denver, in a week or two.

Under the Luck/Pagano era, the Colts have totaled an impressive 22 wins and 10 losses. In the wildcard round, the Colts face Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs, who also turned a 2-14 team around. Reid has helped bring the Chiefs to 11 wins, but the team has stumbled, after a 9-0 start.

The Indianapolis Colts and the Kansas City Chiefs are both on the rise. The Colts have a feeling of a team on the upswing, while the Chiefs have seemed to be slipping down, during the second-half of the season. The Chiefs haven’t won a playoff game in 20 years, and have lost three times to the Colts in that span.

Indianapolis has a chance  to capitalize, and to step on the throat of a team seemingly on the ropes. Either Manning or Tom Brady will be waiting in the wings, but a victory against Kansas City, would be a big step forward for this franchise.
